Re: WANTED : Black 32 Hole Shimano QR 135mm Rear Hub 6 Bolt Disc

Just had a look while putting tools away after work and got a few options for you... Deore XT FH-M756. Well used but bearings feel pretty good. Would need going through properly though before building into a wheel. Think SJS do all the spares if anything is needed. Also got a couple FH-M475s one bit...

Re: WANTED : Black 32 Hole Shimano QR 135mm Rear Hub 6 Bolt Disc

Might well have a few options depending on how good you need it to be and what it's for but will need to have a rummage in the workshop later. They'll be used ones I've kept for parts so may need a bit of fettling before using. IIRC might have one built into a 26" wheel that's good to go if any...

Re: Offas Byke coast to coast

Ta for checking in, and yes I did. Have been meaning to do a proper write up but have been flat out with work and family stuff since so lacking the time and head space to write anything worth putting up. As a quick over view saw a weather gap mid July and took advantage of it, Although what was mean...

Re: Shimano Cues

No immediate knowledge of the cues group sorry but some experience of setting up a low cost "super compact" 46-28t. What front mech and shifter are you using at the moment? You might find that as the chain wheel diameter is a lot smaller the front mech will have a large gap at the rear aff...

Re: Buying hard to find bike parts? (Shimano)

Whenever I've needed specific Shimano bits, especially spares to fix bent mechs or odd size chain wheels etc. SJS cycles in Bridgewater have been my first stop. Might be able to supply parts to refurb your current group set or if you asked them nicely I expect they'd see if a full replacement was av...

Re: Offas Byke coast to coast

No rush here whatsoever. Very doubtful I'll be troubling your time and TBH will be doing a slightly easier route so wouldn't count anyway. I'm planning for 5 but if I need or want a bit longer it's not a problem. Will be my first big trip for a long time so just completing it with a smile will do me...

Re: Offas Byke coast to coast

Ta for thinking of me, nearly an excellent idea. Will try to watch it anyway as must be good if you remembered it.
I appreciate the positive thoughts though, will help me somewhere along the way I'm sure.
Have a good one.

Re: Offas Byke coast to coast

Sure enough the weather's looking somewhat iffy for the foreseeable so plans are on hold for a couple of weeks. Going to try to reschedule for early July. javatime has been very kind in sharing his notes from when he completed the published route a couple of years ago and I'll be adjusting my attemp...

Offas Byke coast to coast

Hello all. New member here wanting to get your advice and thoughts on my plans to solo ride the Offa’s Byke route in the next few weeks. Was going to be next week but with the weather forecast being somewhat mixed I’m tempted put it back a bit. I don’t mind a bit of damp but there’s a limit. First u...
