Re: Summer Jennride 2025 21st June(Summer Solstice)

Saw quite a few riders as they passed through Patterdale this morning.

Re: Bivvy a Month 2025

Still in. June’s edition involved me going somewhere I have long wanted to visit - surreal Sunderland Point. And quite an amazing weird place it is.

I’ll do a report when I’m back off me hols and have access to a PC. BaM 2025 6/6

Re: Yay, it's cheery Friday.

By coincidence I happened to watch a BBC short film last night about the ravens that roost in the forest behind the beach there. Apparently it's mainly juveniles who can fly in from many miles away and use the area for speed dating! Ravens mate for life which can be 25-30 years. If you are interest...

Re: Mostly coasting.

Thursday 28th May 2025 Here we go again, time running away with itself. Taking my eye off the ball. We’d had a long spell of hot and dry weather. Did I take advantage and get my Bivvi a Month done? What do you think? I had been taking some off road routes on the rides to and from work and so the ide...

Re: Bivvy a Month 2025

I'm still in the BaM game. I managed to tick May off last night with sneaky mid-week visit to the 4th tee of a local golf course. Report and pics to follow in 'Mostly Coasting'.

Re: Mostly coasting.

Friday 25th April 2025 I’d had a week off up in the Lakes and decided to kill a few birds with one bike ride home. I could do April’s Bivvy a Month, keep up my 100 mile per week average and complete the Everesting in April Strava Challenge all in one fell swoop. Perfect. I set off an hour later than...

Re: Bivvy a Month 2025

April bivi done. Rode towards home after a great week off in the Lakes and headed into a nearby Nature Reserve. Despite a weird incident where someone with a very bright headtorch seemed to be searching for me then found me and then buggered off 🤔 I got a reasonable spot and some sleep. Up before da...

Re: Mostly coasting.

Saturday night's jaunt: ‘Are you going or not?’ I’d professed to be unsure but really I had already decided on the basis that Bolton had won, Roverrs had lost and it had been sunny and warm for the last two days. Plan A was to head up on the moor and bivvy next to the cairn as I used to see a guy ca...

Re: Mostly coasting.

Not much room on the top two landings, plus I’d have had to
lug my bike up a very tight staircase or two. There was maybe enough room at the entrance but it reeks of pee there!

Re: Mostly coasting.

Friday 21st February 2024 I was still aiming to complete the Bivvy a Month challenge so was keeping an eye on the weather forecast for any opportunity. It had been either freezing cold or freezing cold and wet virtually every day. The ride to work was a challenge in itself, so when I spotted 2 days ...
