One mounted to the bars and a second one reverse mounted to that, with a section of oversized handle bar to take your light...

Re: Handlebar accessory bar thingamajigs

I used a cheap eBay one to actually lift up a bar bag recently and it worked OK, plus to mount a light.

Sure it'd be a laugh on the bigger tyres. How long are you planning to do it? I want to get into doing longer, multi-day trips and local is good as time is limited.

I know about as much as you but I would think you'd be fine on 32s. Might steal your idea actually

Re: Bivvy a Month 2025

Enjoyed reading the dedicated post :-bd My April BaM was a bit less interesting than others to date and no pics because I didn't have my glasses. Threw the bare minimum into a rucksack and went back to a patch of community woodland I used in November 2023 and failed to reach in November 2024, which ...

Re: Front Bar Cradle

I use a Restrap bumper bar which worked well on the old bike but the new one has a shorter head tube and rubbing is an issue so I'm considering a cradle of some sort.

Apologies Phil, March's BaM was done under the auspices of NAWE - should have cross-posted:

Thanks all! Proper Preparation Prevents Provoking Pitfalls when bike Packing There's always faff but soon you're on your way Your heart singing and wheels spinning until A creak or crack does cause your heart to fail And mind on all that could go wrong to dwell A broken seat clamp/freehub/chainring/...

All the things that could go wrong

Give me a list, from experience for preference. I'm thinking airbed gone flat, river crossing gone wrong, closed shops or, even worse, pubs. Realising you left something vital behind. Dogs. The kind of thing you laugh at looking back. What you got?

Re: NAWE 2025

Cheers Shaf. Forgot to mention the barn owl that swooped down and flew in front of me for a bit last night and another one (or the same) a bit later, and the hare this morning. Castle not suitable for SWB unfortunately Phil as camping discouraged (didn't see the sign until this morning) but I think ...

Re: NAWE 2025

Well, while the weather might suggest otherwise my beard confirms it's still winter (it comes off when the clocks go forward next weekend - the question is what to do with it in the meantime: thinking Wolverine. Most successful in previous years have been half'n'half and monkeytail) so there was tim...

Haha thanks. She had a very clear idea of what she wanted and we had fun with all the drilling and sawing. She's recently got into crochet and that might be the answer to the roof.

Might get a bike ride in next weekend.

Re: NAWE 2025

So the weather looking good for the whole weekend, all that was needed was to fix the squeaky front brake and get on the road. As I made my way down to the shed the sun was shining and the birds were singing. Turning the key in the lock I became aware of a plaintive wittering and turned to see a sma...
