Re: Bivvy a month 2022
July's BaM ticked off early on the WalesDuro. After getting off the train in Bangor the first bivi was just over the Menai Bridge, but I forgot to photograph it! A brutal but epic weekend of riding with a great atmosphere. Saturday's highlight was definitely the switchback descent through the slate ...

Re: Bivvy a month 2022
Sound great! Trefil quarries explore is definitely on my list for this year! Ermm just one thing, when you say "crashing in local woods", I hope they're not the same local woods I frequent?? It just occurred to me last night again when I went out to my bivvy spot, which I was confident wo...

Re: Bivvy a month 2022
Another post work loop for this month's BaM from Brecon along the canal to Llangynidr, over the mountain road into Ebbw Vale, before venturing into new terrain to ride up to Trefil Quarry. Was utterly deserted and bizarre but amazing to ride through - I though I was about to be ambushed by Tusken Ra...

Re: Bivvy a month 2022
Posting late but May's BaM was ticked off with a post work loop from Brecon up to Storey Arms and down to Merthyr Tydfil via the Taff Trail. A bit of hike-a-bike behind Beacons Reservoir, but the weather was so nice I didn't care! From Merthyr I followed route 8 back to Talybont-on-Usk, finding the ...

Re: Bivvy a month 2022
4/4 for 2022 with a loop from the Rhondda to Gloucester and back via Cardiff, Newport, Severn crossing, Forest of Dean (bivvy site), Usk and Risca. Great to be discovering new routes rather than my usual Mid Wales haunts. A lot less climbing too! https://i.imgur.com/1GcffBg.jpg https://i.imgur.com/p...

Re: Bivvy a month 2022
Left it until late this month but was worth the wait. After an early finish in work this past Friday I parked up in Talybont on Usk then set out across the Brecon Beacons to Tywi Forest, staying in Moel Prysgau bothy. A fair bit of climbing but worth it for the epic gravel and views! Arrived eight h...

Re: Bivvy a month 2022
Decided to get February's bivi in early with a busy month ahead. Just a few miles up through Gelliwion forest to a little spot overlooking the Rhondda Valley. The lights from the rugby pitch aided in pitching my tent!

Re: Bivvy a month 2022
First post on here so hope it works, never used a forum before! Was hoping to get my January bivi in earlier in the month but was awaiting the arrival of a pair of Salsa HD anything cages to give me the extra capacity to take a tent rather than a bivi (I'd had a particularly unpleasant experience bi...
