Always found them very good, seals keep the poo out, easy to service & amazing quick freehub pick-up + considerably cheaper than competitors.redefined_cycles wrote: ↑Sat Mar 09, 2024 7:24 pm (cos I assume at this price they'll be cheap rubbish Bitex)

Re: Dave's Bikepack Maps
Good work there Mr Barter, loaded on my etrex & had a play on BaseCamp. All works nicely & is particularly clear, even when zooming close in on the small screen on the etrex. Took a while to load the file on the unit - probably just the slow writing to the sd card - the first read into BC to...

Repaired my boots successfully - fingers crossed - they're still holding 3 months later - with a Loctite hot glue gun which was on a deal for less than a tenner from Halfords.

Re: Cheapest (but safe) option of transferring gas from big to small can?
I use the cheapo couple of quid ebay special, I weigh both cans before & during the filling, most cans I have played with have the gas fill weight so keeping within this should avoid overfill issues.

On One Carbon 29er fork. 1 1/8. 100qr.
On One monocoque carbon 29er fork. 210mm 1 1/8" steerer, 470'ish mm A-C. 100mm qr axle. ISO disc mount. Pretty much brand new, were fitted to a bike but not used before being removed & then languished in garage for numerous years.

Re: Anyone got a Sherpa?
I have a Gen 2 uk build & get on really well with it. Spent what seemed like ages trying various bikes, couldn't get on with the super long & slack HA latest offerings, narrowed it down to Sherpa, Solaris MK2 or the rarer Solaris Max mk1. The Sherpa turns brilliantly, which for a 29er, I fou...

Fantastic - you really have excellent adventures from your doorstep. Most have to travel hundreds of miles to get to places like that. Great filming too.summittoppler wrote: ↑Sat Sep 05, 2020 8:43 am Here's my film from last weekend in Snowdonia, it was a good un!

Re: Swapping to Alfine 11
The yellow dots alignment is not gospel as there is a part of the shift mechanism that can effectively "twist" over time due to gear changing loads. So the dot on the shift drum ends up needing to be further clockwise to get the shift pawls correctly aligned. This may only be the thickness...

Re: USB Power Banks using AA Batteries
Been using one of these for a year. Seems ok for what I use it for, I'm very much an AA based electrikery economy on trips. Will charge devices at 1A, which works on my phone & top up my AA's for ETrex & lights using any available mains supply or car 12v. Pretty versatile really. Price seems...

Re: North Downs way
Rode most of NDW last year, I'm based in South Essex so not exactly blessed with local decent routes to choose when riding from home. Did Gravesend to Vigo, then NDW to Canterbury, Dover, along coast to Folkstone, back to Wye using as much off road as possible, then back along NDW to Vigo & home...
