Re: Todays ride
Saturday into Sunday's ride, and my admittedly shabby excuse for missing WRT (take 2!), was that I rode Brevet Cymru 400km audax. I don't really know what to say about it, and I didn't really take many photos, as trying to minimise stop time so I'd get round in time. It does feel really good to find...

Re: What are you listening to now?
Love this, my Friday just got to another level of cheery!!
I knew I could rely on you lot to take this to levels of sick/ black humour that I hadn't even thought about...
He would approve!!

Re: Bivvy a Month 2025
Despite my best intentions i had to settle for another local bivvy so off up the Malverns i went it was a glorious evening i left reasonably early and enjoyed a decent ride before searching for a room with a view i was determined to find somewhere new. I followed some sheep tracks and found an idea...

Highway to hell , one of husband's (soon to be ex husband's, as we've started the divorce process) top choices for his funeral songs... Call it morbid, or just a good idea as he really has not been well lately and for a few days it looked a bit dodge..., or call it quite good fun, I've been doing it...

Re: Yay, it's cheery Friday.
Cheery Friday, because I've got the day off work, to generally laze about, and get myself ready for Brevet Cymru tomorrow.
Feeling very oddly not nervous about it, at the moment at least, just really looking forward to it.
Hope everyone doing WRT is going to have a great weekend

Saw some unbelievably cute tiny coot chicks today and watched them being fed by their parents.
Also first cuckoo.

Re: Wildlife
On a wander in the Forest of Dean today in search of bluebells, we found no bluebells, but a deer, and maybe its kid.
This was after a lovely "surprise" bumping into Kev and Peter at the Hopewell Colliery cafe

Thank you - it is one of a few amazing little places, right on the edge of town, and not a pretty town, and then there's these little gems.... they were all ponds to feed the Nantyglo iron works. Have been looking at old OS maps today...

There's this mountain that I've been looking at every day since moving here at the end of last summer, from my bed, and from my desk at home, and I've been itching to get up there on a nice day - last weekend it was such a day on Easter Sunday  https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/54463649962_4...

Verena, I'd be inclined to dig out the boggy mud and divert any water around the building not through it. Even building a floor over wet ground will be cold and damp... Ah, good thinking! Worth taking a shovel up there and giving that a go. Cheers :-bd Went for a walk at the weekend and took anothe...

Very pleased indeed to be able to report that I'm actually out out. Obviously I'm also out in the sense of out of this year's BAM run, having missed March sadly, but hopefully I'm back to starting another run of consecutive months... Have opted for hammock in woodland, thinking that this is a lovel...

Re: Yay, it's cheery Friday.
Managed to book my couchette and bike space on the night train from Toulouse to Paris for my summer holidays.
With the ferries I'd booked a while back, that's me sorted - all I have to in between is ride my bike lots

Thought I had posted here, asking if anyone (else) was thinking of going out last night, to catch the lunar eclipse this morning? Turns out I didn't click the "submit" button... Also turns out I didn't go out for a BAM... but that I happened to wake up early, and that I could watch the ecl...
