So Kirkwall to Lerwick is overnight and doesn't run on a Monday night so I guess I'm starting earlier.

Northern Isles and Gorms from Home
I have a fairly fluid plan coming together for mid/late May. I live in East Ross. Plan is to leave on a Saturday morning and start on my normal Coast to Coast route then hook up with the GB Divide route from Glen Calvie then on to camp by food at Garvault. Short day 2 to jump on the ferry from Thurs...

Re: Deeside trail
Hoping to do this on Friday/Saturday. I'll be starting from Ballater as the point in the Trail I can get to quickest on Friday morning (from the north). Should be ready to ride by 0930, heading west loop first. I've only got the 2 days available. I'm not fast, but capable of grinding out long days a...

Re: Cairngorms loop sept?
My current plan is to leave BA Friday afternoon aiming to get to Glenmore for a lochside bivvy and a couple of pots in the PM. Aiming for dinner (and more beer) in the OBI Saturday night and a bivvy between there and Forest Lodge.
We'll see.
We'll see.

Same story here. Disappointed, but at the same time glad to be home, dry and warm. Always a learning game. Today's lesson is don't let FOMO get in the way of rationale. Great to meet those I met for the first time today and equally to see those I already know. Howard is pretty amazing, huh. I'll be ...

Re: Cairngorms loop sept?
If I'm in it'll be a 10:00 start for me. I'd need to leave at 07:30 to even be ready for that. I'm seeing some very serious rain forecast from 16:00 Friday until early afternoon Saturday. Fords of Avon will be interesting but the next section could be purgatory. I'll call it tomorrow. The route isn'...

While out and about in Feshie, it was (mostly) good to see the care and investment being put into the area. The landowner (Danish guy) funded the bothy in Feshie to the tune of £250K and has it very tidy. I learned today that he lost three of his four children in the Sri Lanka terror attacks  ...
