Re: Komoot is dead, long live Komoot
I talked to guy a few years ago who seemed to know the people behind Komoot and RWGPS. He said that Komoot put all their efforts into marketing and the development of the app was secondary and that the team at RWGPS couldn't give a f##k about marketing and the functionality of their product was para...

Probably not too far away from you.. Lincoln Gravel Imp https://bikepacking.com/routes/lincoln-gravel-imp/ Really nice route ( I would say that though as I designed it
) and fits your criteria.

Re: UK Triple Crown
I'm probably being pedantic but shouldn't it really be called the GB Triple Crown. If it was the UK Triple Crown then you'd need a route in N.I. too making it a Quad Crown?

2 months in Morocco 2025
I just got back from 2 months in Morocco . Followed the AMR route in the opposite direction from Essaouira to Tafraout, Route of caravans (with lots of variations) to Boumalne Dades, big loop down to Merzouga through Toura, Oum Jrane and Sidi Ali, on to Rissani, Gara Medour and Erachidia. Bus to Mid...

Hopefully off to Morocco for a couple of months shortly to do the updated route of Caravans off Bikepacking.com with alterations and extra bits. Back to the UK for a couple of months to get mum moved down closer to my sister's place before hopefully throught the Stans in Central Asia.

Re: 2024 reflection
Very much a year of two halves. Started out well with completing my CELTA course with a good grade and then going to Spain on the bike for 2.5 months/5000km. Altravesur, Montanius Vacias, bit of Spanish Divide, bit of Camino, then Eurovelo all the way up through France via Paris to Dieppe. Got back ...

Roswheel bikepacking bags on SP. Not heard of them before, tempted by the saddle bag/rack but don’t think it’ll work with my suspension seatpost. They've been around a few years. Been on SP before too I think. You might be able to tell whether or not it'll work from the video. Says the clamp can be...

I've no personal experience of them (when has that been an issue with internet recommendations) but I have friends who say good things about their Velocity Blunt rims. They are 35mm wide as well. https://www.velocityusa.com/product/rims/blunt-35-584 Pretty tough by all accounts. I discounted those ...

Currently running Race Face ARC 35's which have been 100% reliable over the last 25,000 miles but having twatted the front hard enough twice this year to put a minor flat spot on the bead shelf I'm thinking I should probably start looking for a replacent. Sadly the ARC 35's are no longer available, ...

Re: Recommend a dry bag for saddlebag holster
My Alpkit tapered dry-bag did much the same very quickly which is why I did'nt recommend it originally. I've never had any item whether a dry-bag, tent rain fly or other that has been durable with these kind of taped seems. The only thing I trust to be truly waterproof and reasonably durable is RF w...

These I think. https://7mesh.com/products/mens-mk3-half-short I would definitely probably size up but maybe the ones I have are just right. Merino padded shorts
I bought a few pairs of the Vulpine Mens Merino Padded Boxers from Sport pursuit last year which lasted a predictably short length of time before getting holes worn in them (approx 3000 miles each pair) Anyone know of any more robust substitutes. I'm tired of damp smelly lycra and going without a ch...

Very good life out of that there neglected chain Woodsmith. What lube are you using. I'll assume an oil based that you regularly just top up and wipe down! Smoove wax lube in a bottle. Unfortunatly I think it might have gone out of production? It was over three long mostly dry extended trips of aro...
