Re: Folding bikes
Ben does an Alfine as well, I just picked the Rollhof as it was the most expensive option  http://www.kinetics-online.co.uk/folding-bikes/brompton/brompton-alfine-kits/ Thnaks for that! I've just picked up a Brompton a few weeks back and now I've convinced myself that it needs Di2 Alfine gear...

Re: Thinking SS...
Gah, all this SS talk is making me miss my El Mar. Alternator drop outs were great Maybe I'll get an EBB SS steel bike again one day. It was great for local stuff My El Mar was probably the best frame I've owned. I swapped between full ridid and bouncy forks on it every now and again but it was rea...

Re: SRAM mech compatability
I wonder if the narrow/wide upper jockey wheel on the 1x rear mechs causes problems?
Other than that I can't see how it would make any difference having a double up front or a single!

Re: What's the weekend got in store?
Stuck at work all weekend and the weather looks perfect
I’m planning on heading out for an overnighter on Monday but can’t decide whether to head north to the Ridgeway/Ivinghoe area or south to the SDW. It’s 50:50 on distance so might have to flip a coin to decide.

Re: The post man's been ...
The Postie arrived with my bivvy bag and a few other bits from Alpkit. Planning next weeks trip, not a bad way to spend a morning! I hope that mug is going to be attached to the outside of seat pack so people know you're a bike-packer  The mug is going to work in place of the ones I keep brea...

I never really thought about that.Bearbonesnorm wrote: ↑Sat Jul 27, 2019 4:26 pmIf you're wanting to put your mat inside, I'd pay the extra for the XL version.I’ll get one of those ordered along with a Hunka bivvy bag
Am I better off with the mat in the bivvy bag rather than outside?

Re: Too Many Sleeping Bag Options!
Thanks Guys.
The Mountain Hardwear bag looks good to me I’ll get one of those ordered along with a Hunka bivvy bag I think.
Once they’re here I think that should be pretty much everything I need.

Too Many Sleeping Bag Options!
I'm looking for a sleeping bag to use on a couple of bike packing trips, it's only going to be for summer/autumn use in decent weather and will be used with a bivi bag for the time being. After looking around the interweb I seem to be overloaded with choices but as ever, the decent stuff seems to be...

Re: Two Person Tents?
I've been doing a bit of Googling and looking at various tent options, the choice is bewildering when you're not sure what you want!
The Alpkit Viso 2 looks pretty good for what I need, not too expensive and seems to be a sensible size as well.

Re: Two Person Tents?
A couple of interesting points there.
I'm part tempted to get a couple of one man tents, one cheapo and a decent one as I imagine the two person wont be used much.
Definitely need to do some more research before I get something.

Two Person Tents?
I've recently built up a Space Chicken for my other half and she's now decided that she fancies doing a couple of bikepacking trips. They aren't going to be huge mileage, in the middle of nowhere, or in anything but good weather but I still need a tent. I suggested just sleeping under the stars but ...

For bike fit try Adrian at Cadence Sport: http://www.cadencesport.co.uk/ He's very good, really knows his stuff. I've used him twice now and it's been worth every penny. For lower back pain I found that yoga works quite well. I saw this video on Pinkbike a while back and found that it worked for me:...

Which Apidura Packs?
I'm planning on getting some Apidura packs but currently undecided between the Expedition or Backcountry ranges.
Is there much difference between the two ranges apart from the Expedition packs being waterproof?

I’m looking for a saddlebag at the moment for some trips but unsure what size to go for. I’ll be travelling fairly light with probably some trainers , bib shorts, jersey, shorts and a t shirt going in the bag along with some other odds and ends. Would this be likely to fit in an 11 litre saddle bag...
