Re: 141 QR Boost Dropouts - Sonder Frontier
Cheers lads, I hadn't spotted the 141 option on superstars website, I'll take a look, thanks! I fear you may be right though and a rebuild onto a boost hub may actually be the most economic option. I think if I went down that route I'd probably look at "true" boost frames to take advantage...

Re: 141 QR Boost Dropouts - Sonder Frontier
HI FLV, My current hubs are brand new Superstars V6 135mm QR - it's possible Superstars might make something up but I think I'm likely to have more luck with local engineering /lathe type folk. The Frontier is apparently happy up to 29x2.5 which I think will accommodate my current tyre choice, espec...

141 QR Boost Dropouts - Sonder Frontier
I've currently got a 2.6" WTB tyre crammed into the 135mm QR rear end of my Whyte 629 - I've had to trim it a little to stop it rubbing but the comfort and ride quality were worth it to be honest. It does still rub a little under high torque or if stood up and climbing - obviously not ideal. I'...

Re: Dropper Post Curious...
I use a dropper and a wildcat seat pack on my admittedly infrequent trips out - dont have any issues. On one bike I've a 150mm dropper and the other a 125mm version - Both Brand X Ascend II's. I've not noticed any major sway or similar. I do fit a reverb collar on my 29er to ensure I dont drop the s...

Going semi-plus...?
Hi all, I've been thinking about upping the tyre size on my bike. I've got a Whyte 629 that is very comfortable and efficient to ride - it also has absolutely loads of clearance between seat and chainstays and the current 2.25 Maxxis Crossmark fitted on 23mm WTB asymmetric rims. https://static1.squa...

Re: Footpaths
There are footpaths and then there are footpaths... I ride them all the time, there's one at the top of my street that I'll use at least weekly. I never have any issues. I would definitely think twice about using footpaths in the Lakes or Peaks at lunchtime on a blazing bank hol weekend.... Live and...

Re: Makeshift (emergency) bivi bag
Thanks Chaps - Quimarche, that's a fine offer, thank you! Whichever is your least favourite/cheapest to replace please
I should be there handyish, planning to use the Wheelbase car park at the back, blue VW Passat estate and a sliver/grey/orange Whyte 629 with Chilli Alpkit bags.

Makeshift (emergency) bivi bag
Hi all, I've been eagerly anticipating the arrival of my new bivi bag from Bespoke Ultralight but now fear its been lost in the post!!! Gutted. What can I use on the #Jennride as a makeshift bivi bag? I'll be sleeping under a tarp in a 3 season bag. All suggestions need to be readily accessible betw...

Re: Yet again - Leave No Trace.
There's a time and a place for most things I find. Personally I like a fire. As an infrequent bivvi'er when I do get out its a special occasion, like a camping trip, and a small, controlled and responsible fire is something I look forward to and enjoy - as long as I'm in a suitable spot. I always en...

Re: Seat stay lights which one is the must buy option
I bought one of these as a stop gap measure in December. It's lasted all winter, been covered in mud, jet washed and generally left under a crust of dirt on the seat stay in the garage between rides. http://www.halfords.com/cycling/bike-lights/bike-lights/lezyne-led-femto-drive-rear-bike-light-black...

Re: [WTD] Wildcat Lion & Tiger Drover
Thanks chaps. Ideally I'm looking for the Wildcat harnesses as I've used Wotsit's on previous rides and know they work - I've also got alpkit airlock / tapered dry bags and know they fit. I'll keep any eye out for the separate post Piranha. Mac, what is the seat pack that you're offering? Will it ta...

Re: [WTD] Wildcat Lion & Tiger Drover
Hi Alh14, yes no problem. A few pics would be appreciated.
I'll looking to have my kit assembled by W/C 7th May for the #Jennride on 12th so should still be plenty of time.
Still looking for the Drover seat pack too!!

Re: Bivvy bag reccomendations
Alright Stu, I had a similar issue when I has the hunka xl. I loved everything about it except getti g in and out through the top. In the end I went for a custom bag from bespoke ultralight. I'd recommend him! Thanks All! @lawmanmx also recommended Scotty at BEUL who I've been in touch with via Fac...
