Re: DNF
Sadly sacked it on Saturday evening when reaching the George Borrow Hotel, after somehow killing my charger bank. Only my third bikepacking outing but certainly learnt more on Saturday than I did on my other outings together! 1. A sleeping bag stuffed in a waterproof bivi bag then stuffed in a water...

Re: Garmin advice
I've been using OS 1:50,000 mapping on my iPhone which can be bought and pre-loaded for the whole of the UK for less than 100 quid now through Memorymap (Ordnance Survey's own outlet). It is really great mapping as it's the standard OS format which has been going since Neolithic times...probably? Ho...

Proving rides carried out
Hi I was wondering how you manage to provide evidence for a long ride...unfortunately I'm better at turning peddles, than technology! On normal rides I use Strava or Garmin 810 to log my activity but neither devices will get me past 12 hours. I have entered for the group start of Braunton 150. I wil...

Dynamo Lights & USB charger
Hi guys I suspect this may be re-visited post but just in case it isn't, I'm hoping for some advice please: I'm trying to solve the issue of multi day riding and being in a position where I can use lights at night & keep my iPhone charged for mapping. I like the look of the Exposure Revo dynamo ...

Re: Group size....
I suppose also depends how important the ride is...is it just a social ride with your mates or are you on a mission?...the more there are the more chances of stopping & starting with mechanicals etc... If someone has to quit, do you quit with them or leave them with a revolver & 1 bullet in ...

Thanks for all the input guys. I've ordered an Aukey 20000mAh battery backup for my iphone & see how that goes...just not ready to be without my memorymap yet!

Which GPS for battery life?
Hi, I'm a newbie so please excuse me if I'm revisiting an old subject!...I was wondering what nav systems more experienced guys use for their long distance navigation? I have a Garmin 810 with pretty crap mapping and 13 hour battery life & also my iphone which I have memorymap on, which I love!....
