Re: What can I do for a 2025 challenge ?

I've just plotted a (very) rough 1st draft of a Highest English Railway Station to Highest Scottish Railway Station. 500km-ish. Would be a nice wee jaunt...

Re: Knee pain? This may just help...

Very interesting! How tall are you/whats your inseam length? I had a couple of bikefits and none mentioned using shorter cranks (mine are 175mm). I had knee pain in the past and found that boring physio exercises worked well....only issue is staying on top of them! 5' 10" Asking about my insea...

You need to raise yer desk by 15mm, like I had to with my saddle, to compensate for my child sized cranks.

Re: Knee pain? This may just help...

Very interesting. But who makes affordable 160mm MTB cranks? A quick search only throws up very expensive options. Yeah, Shimano and Sram go down to 165mm. Hope and Dev5 are too spendy for me. Ended up using Unite. Reasonable price with their seemingly constant discount code AND just down the road ...

Knee pain? This may just help...

Firstly, I know that knee pain covers a huge range of issues. But for me the last year or so on the bike has been getting less and less enjoyable...but I may have found the solution... I have a leg length difference (3/4"), a bit of cartilage wear and tear, early arthritis, blah blah blah. I've...

Re: BB200 2024

Strada Florida was ok, a tad moist. The real crux was having Rhayader at the half way point with it's lovely road straight back to Llanbrynmair. I nearly bailed, but a hot air dryer in a public loo raised the spirits. Oh, and the knowledge that Mrs Polisherman (who was not far behind), would be very...

In line filters for water bladders, which don't require you to suck your throat inside out?

Usually happy enough to casually filters puddles with a Sayers mini, but got a route coming up where the speed of an in line filter could be useful. Any one had any success with other brands?

Capital trail... but which version?

'ow do. We're going to have a go at this in April. But I'm not sure which "Capital trail" we'll be doing at the moment! Has anyone got the current gpx file? The map on bikepacking.com in places doesn't match the written description. I've not checked the whole thing, but around Minch Moor/T...

My Lanshan failed miserably when pitched in the garden of nice pub at Stanbury.
Nowhere in the instructions does it say "Drinking 6 pints of refreshing ale before zipping yours self in for the night will create moist conditions for sleeping"

Re: HT550 2023

Met up with Annie Le at Kinlochleven this evening. She was pretty chilled, and said she was aiming to enjoy the last 50 miles.
Liz is steady away, she was super rapid for the first couple of days. I haven't spoken to her, sent a few texts. She'll likely be up at 5 tomorrow to start the Torridon bit.
