Re: 2025 - A year to look forward to? What are your plans?

1 - Attempting to get in at least 200Kms a month on the bike after a few years of not riding enough due to juggling werk. Last years little bursts here and there were magic and saved me from going postal on more than one occasion. 2 - Attempting to talk to people more....apparently I speak another l...

Ah....I see.
Makes me think of Xmas 2018 and the Kerry Ridgeway ice rink...when more sensible people than myself recommended we turn back.

I gotta say I never thought I'd see the day you let weather stop you Stu.
Was it seriously worse than Twixmas 2014 or the Bala Bin-Bag extravaganza of 2015?
I'm presuming it was carry-only snow depths out in the green desert.

Can't see you needing 3" for TNR. Climbing gears, 2.1's and GOOD brakes. You'll have a blast. FWIW...I've done it twice on Niner RDO carbon forks...when I get another chance, I'll be taking front suspension to enjoy the rougher parts more. Can always lockout on the smoother parts. Greetz S : )

Have been using Topeak Mountain TT Twin Turbo mini for a few years now. Recently needed to sort 2 x 29ers in a hotel at the airport. Conti on DT Swiss rim went up and snapped on no problem. Contis on Bonty Line rims also snapped on no problem. A couple of minutes and it was job done. Conti on Bonty ...

Re: Ultralightweight 2season sleeping bag?

Still using my Zpacks 0C down bag after 10 years and it holds up ok. They do a 6' 6" bag....should be more than enough length. Not cheap, but if you use it a lot, it's not a bad buy. On the lighter end of ultralight. I think mine comes in ~500g.

Re: Recommend a waterproof jacket

Would recommend Mont-Bell Torrent Flyer GTX I picked up last month, but it was a bit more than the 150 mark. 206 grams of goretex paclite2, pit zips, map pocket with drain, decent sized hood that'll go over or under the helmet. Takes my Plasma 1000 down underneath ok. Very happy with it as it kept m...

Don't forget to hang your food and brush your drivetrain daily! Hope you don't get too much mud.

Physio to work out the damage and the exercises you need to do to return the area to strength
Masseuse to unlock the rest of you for healthy blood flow to the afflicted area
Rest - I agree with Froggy on a splint to keep things in place when sleeping

Smashing night out with Mike, but no little brother after he had a little lay down and is now nursing iffy hip. Great food at Kings Head in Church Stretton...dry ride up to the usual spot. For me, hydraulics...all day, every day. I've SLX, XT and XTR on the 3 bikes...and they have all been excellent over the last 10 years. The XTR down the Burway this morning were as good as when I got them 7 or 8 years ago. Never had a problem with the hoses when travelling. Knock on wood this contin...

+1 for additional velcro straps to hold things onto the bars/top of bar roll. I used to strap a drybag with Sawyer kit up there so it was easy to get to. Faffing in saddle bag for water filtration kit was a PITA.

Re: Recommend me a quilt

Was impressed with the Neve Gear Warratah quilt. It's a quilt...it can be configured to have a toe box...it has strap clips for attaching around mats...900 fill...rated for -2C...weighs in at ~480g IIRC. However, it's massive! You could turn it sideways and cover two people sleeping in down jackets....
