Have done a lot of XC on it, like Pennine Bridleway sections, Cheshire canal ring and a run from South Manchester to my sisters on the other side of Bowland Forest,...

Re: What tyres for bikepaking?
Some good advice in this thread. I've recently switched to a 29er and running WTB EXI Wolf, which are terrible in the mud. @Gairy- I know what you mean about confidence on the 29. Riding rigid over rough terrain can be iffy at times for me. I've been riding a SS CX bike for the last few years, so it...

Re: bivy bag recommendations please
I've been debating this myself.
Just taken the plunge on a Rab Ascent, with nearly 50% off from Rock+Run.
Couldn't resist.

You're close to Delamere Forest. Have to be very stealthy though.
Deepest Cheshire, if you know what I mean.

Re: What GPS?
Garmin Oregon 550, love it. I find the OS and interface excellent.
Loads of features, easy batteries.
Mine flew into the Bridgewater canal once, when I hit some cobblestones at speed.
Gutted- went in after it, and could see it floating about 2 feet from the bottom.
And it still works fine.

Re: Morning all
Afternoon Thought I'd step in here and say hello with my first post. I'm new to Bikepacking, but off road cycling is a major love. Usually the Peaks, Pennines and North Wales, or finding the dirt tracks around Manchester where I live. Along with my usual biking buddy, I'm planning a trip to the Uppe...
