FS. PHD Minum Ultra Sleeping Bag & TN Moonlite Bivvy
After much deliberation I've decided to let these go. They were always on my wish list, such incredible pieces of kit as they are, but I just don't use them anymore and can't justify keeping them. No offers please, I have tried to be keen with the prices. Please email me rather than PM, anthonyrampl...

I've not been active on here for waay too long, Hi all :-bd I just found these under the bed and know they aren't going to get used before they go out of date (mostly only a few weeks, but 2 years old so doubt the date is too critical!) so I'd rather not bin them and sooner they went to someone who ...

FS- PHD Minim 600 sleeping bag
I purchased this 2nd hand and it was pretty much as new. I've slept in it twice since! I have a pd800 too so it seems silly to keep them both. Always stored loose and even aired outside on washing line every now and again so it's loft is perfect. Blue M1 outer Black M1 inner. Still a £330 current mo...

Re: Restoring well-used down sleeping bags
There is a company in Sheffield iirc that both Rab and PHD recommend for washing duties. I'm sure a google will uncover an outdoorsmagic thread with details. Their name escapes me, sure it begins with S!
Largely considered worth every penny for what they can do to old down gear.

For 1x10 I like them as the whole drivetrain seems to wear out at same time.
For weight weenie SS I like them.
For normal SS then the Surly Stainless is an absolute joy and indeed last forever.

You'll get mixed reviews, but personally I loved it. Guide book reckons on 5 days supported, but it's not that hard, I rode it all Monday teatime to Thurs late morning carrying 5 days of food as I then headed south towards home. It's a lovely trip with a great variety of trails as you experience qui...

Re: Karrimor x-lite inflatable air mattress
They also blow up quite narrow, even for my svelte figure. The ridges are quite deep too.
For summer only they are worth a punt, the deep ridges may even help a down bag loft better under you!
I kept mine a day before I decided that my heavier neoair was still the better option.

Re: ESI grips for the small of hand?
I've ridden both, I prefer a thinner grip but the chunky is fine. You can stretch them to a certain extent to slim them a little. The racer edge is my favourite but unless you take care of them they tear so easily and I was changing them every couple of months. The chunky seems to cope better. The m...

Lid from a large tin of Lyons golden syrup works perfectly for me. In fact fit is pretty much perfect.

Re: Terra Nova Moonlight bivi question
Great, but it has its limitations. It's a waterproof sleeping bag cover rather than a bivvy bag IMO. It's small, 6' is about its height limit and its narrower, esp at foot end than a Hunka/Storm Packsize think coke can at most Very breathable Sub 200g Light fabric has zero effect on a lightweight do...

Re: 240g down bag from PHD
High FP down tends to compress more than lower FP How Stuart? Looking at the machine that tests it, fill power is the strength of the down under compression from a load placed upon it, the higher the fill power the less it compresses. How does it behave differently under load from wind rather than ...
