Bag or pants?!

TL:DR: will insulated trousers (and the jacket I already use) give me enough of a boost to be comfortable enough in a summer weight sleeping bag at near freezing temps? Last week I donated my good sleeping bag to my daughter for the two nights on WRT, and toughed it out my my 'race' bag (comfort rat...

Re: WRT - Thank you!

Another thank you from the tandem team, especially from my super-stoker Alice who loved her Singular t-shirt at the start (wore it day and night for the whole weekend), and won't stop talking about how she loves Dee and the dogs at the end. :-bd

The basic fold is quite quick but not into a neat unit for carrying as is without a bag or case, as the steerer and bars are no longer attached.

There were at least three others in the queue for mine on LFGSS. Maybe try on there if you're willing to post it (although it seems to be less and less London-centric on there now).

Re: Folding Bikes - Experiences..

Thread resurrection...I finally got my hands on a Bike Friday after about two years of searching; a bloke on LFGSS bought one I was watching on ebay (too far away for me to collect anyway), then bought a Brompton G-line instead and sold the BF on to me. :-bd So far it's been stripped, checked and my...

Yes, mine is the 19/15" in order to get the daughter on it, hence the monster stack of steerer spacers as I'm 187cm tall.

If it's the smaller size my 142cm tall ten year old daughter can ride ours (and will be at WRT with me on it next week) but not enough room for the suspension post.

What's the Welsh Black Inn pub like at Bow Street? I've got my daughter with me this year so pub for dinner is a must, as now is ice cream on the beach Sunday morning.

No, (sorry!) but in a fit of socialising I've entered 'Gravel Foyle Grand Old Dukes' in June - https://www.dukesweekender.com/ Looks like quite a nice route (cue thunderstorms) Whitestone on here has done it, supposed to be good fun.... Nah. Blea Yarn is the road climb out of the end of Great Langdale, a nice warm up before Fucknose and Whyknott going east to west.

15 years ago I was a massive Assos Mille fan, but they got too expensive. More than R apha, and look what the forum swear filter thinks of them!

Castelli do some decent 3/4 bibs; my current ones are Entrata.

If you search for 3/4 bibs it looks like Gore, Sportfull, Alē all do 3/4 bibs as well.

Re: Under-biked, over-biked, bimbling free …

Often when I consider what I want from riding one of the big multi-day events, top of the list is 'finish'. Fast pace for three days then DNF would be an unacceptable outcome. If it was my first time round the HT550 I would be tempted to sacrifice enjoying the downhills for robustness of a (probably...

I got an old Rockshox suspension seat post with elastomers in it off of eBay for a tenner. Works ok to take the edge off the bumps and seems fine with a seat bag on it Maybe worth looking for one of them? Not much money to gamble You can pick up similar USE ones off ebay for sub-£20 (older ones are...

Where did you get the 9 speed chain from? There are apparently quite a lot of fake shimano chains out there... Was also about to reply this. Uberbike Race Matrix pads. I've used them for years in all bikes road and off-road. Softer hence more power and don't squeal.

I've got some original 420 a-c On One steel forks on my son's Inbred. They would survive a nuclear strike! Something to be handed down to the grandchildren, not thrown in a skip. How sad.

If it's a Hope hub I could include 20mm end caps as I'd have no further use for them, but no problem if 140 travel is no good.

Good luck with the search.

I've got a ~2013 Revelation 29er 140mm fork (non-boost 20mm axle) with a tapered steerer. They're in good condition, and seemed to work fine only the other week when I was musing again about what to do with them. I'm certain they can be dropped to 120mm but wouldn't know exactly what was required. I...

FS: Shimano 8spd drivetrain

I've seen a couple of mentions of people using 8spd drivetrains, anybody interested in a full flat bar setup for £50 plus postage?
I've stripped this off a bike that's been stored inside pretty much unused for a dozen years. 48-36-26 4 bolt rings, 11-30 cassette.
