This year it was Mach’ and hopefully back, in 2013 it’s Elan … that’s right you get to go to El-an back!
Even the bear’s getting in on the act!

El-an Back takes place over the weekend of Jan 12th/13th in wintry mid Wales. The format is the same as Mach’ n Back and similar to the Welsh Ride Thing. Everyone will receive a list of grid references on Christmas eve (so you’ll have something to do over Christmas) with which to devise a route, you can use as many or as few as you like so long as you visit the compulsory one.

There’s no fixed start or finish time but you will be spending Saturday night out in the hills. We’ll ply you with tea and toast before you set off and stoke your inner fire with cake when you return.

If you need an excuse to get off the sofa and on your bike … this is it.

At first, I was a little unsure as to the reasons behind that statement, after all, I’ve been riding the hills and valleys of Wales for twenty years. I’ve mapped out numerous routes across the largely green and pleasant land and have gained […]
